Black's queen comes out on move two. Chase her with tempo and enjoy a free lead in development.
The Scandinavian starts 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5.
The principle. An early queen is a target, so 3.Nc3 develops with tempo.
The plan. Play d4 and Nf3, develop the bishops, castle. Against 2...Nf6, d4 and Nf3 lead to the same comfortable centre.
